Here are a couple of pictures from one of the Percussion For Worship readers. The photos show some details from the setup of John Homan, percussionist at New Creation Fellowship in Granger, Indiana. John's generosity in sharing these with the readers gives me the idea to feature some photos from other worship percussionists. From the early days of his career as Artist in Residence at Coastal Carolina Community College to his present day work as a percussion soloist, clinician, sideman, and entrepreneur, Mark Shelton has created programs and educational services for a variety of ages.
A current member of the Percussive Arts Society's Interactive Drumming Committee, Mark presented an arts-in-education demonstration at the 2008 Percussive Arts Society International Convention and was facilitator of the Friday Night Drum Circle at PASIC 2009.
Recently, Mark was accepted onto the artist roster for the Percussion Marketing Council.
Mark’s experience in contemporary praise and worship percussion is highlighted in the release of the Gateway Create DVD series, Worship Team Director distributed by Integrity Music.
An avid runner, Mark was the overall winner in the 5000 meter run at the 2005 Texas Masters Championships and finished #102 in the 2007 Texas Marathon.
